TV Repair Technician

Since most people find it cheaper to replace a TV instead of repairing it, the job sector for TV repair technicians is expected to grow more slowly than the average for all job occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

What does this mean for you? TV repair technicians do earn good money, making it an appealing occupation, but, since there will be less jobs available, you will need to work harder to make yourself desirable to prospective employers. Vocational schools can help make you more competitive in this shrinking job market.

TV Repair Technician Schools
A lot of repairs involve simply lubricating and cleaning equipment; however, with newer televisions, they can be a lot more complicated. It’s necessary to learn how to use all of the diagnostic equipment required to identify problems. This can include anything from multimeters, which detect short circuits, to oscilloscopes which measure complex waveforms produced by electronic equipment.

Employers require workers to have a basic knowledge of electronics, basic computer skills, and the ability to read schematics. Since you need these skills before obtaining your first job, colleges or schools that offer degrees for TV repair technicians are extremely important. The degrees received from these colleges provide both theoretical and hands-on experience. If you get certified in TV repair, it will give you an edge over other applicants.
